Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Metryo. By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read — if anything is unclear, ask us before relying on it.
01The service
Metryo provides website analytics: a tracking script, data processing, and a reporting dashboard. We may add, change or remove features as the product evolves, and will communicate breaking changes ahead of time when reasonably possible.
02Your account
Accounts are created by signing in with GitHub or Google. We never receive or store a password, so keeping that provider account secure — including its own two-factor settings — is your responsibility, as is all activity under your Metryo account.
We read your email address, your name and your profile picture from the provider, and we use the email address to identify your account. If you lose access to the provider account, you lose access to the Metryo account with it. You must be legally capable of entering this agreement.
03Acceptable use
You may only measure websites you own or are authorised to measure. You must disclose your use of analytics to your visitors where the law requires it, and you may not use Metryo to collect data from children's services subject to special protection, to track individuals across unrelated sites, or for any unlawful purpose.
Event names and properties are chosen by you, including those attached to tracked clicks. You must not place personal data — names, email addresses, tokens, payment details or anything similar — into them, and you are the controller of whatever you choose to send.
04Websites we do not accept
Metryo may not be used to measure adult websites presenting sexually explicit material, gambling or betting websites, or any website engaged in fraud, deception or otherwise designed to take money from people under false pretences. This applies whatever your plan.
We review the websites on the service periodically. If we find one of these, the account behind it is banned — every website on it stops collecting immediately, and the remainder of any period already paid for is not refunded. A ban for this reason is a termination for breach of these terms, and the refund windows described above do not apply to it.
If you believe a website was judged wrongly, write to support@metryo.io and we will look at it again.
05Plans and limits
Each plan includes a monthly event allowance, a website limit and a data-retention window. When an allowance is exceeded we may stop counting new events until the next period. During the launch period, billing is disabled and paid features are provided free of charge; we will give notice before billing begins.
Automatic click tracking requires a paid plan. On the Free plan the script may still send those events, but we discard them on arrival: they are not stored, not shown in your dashboard, and not counted against your allowance. Downgrading to Free stops the collection of new clicks and leaves clicks already recorded subject to your plan's retention window.
06Refunds and cancellation
Any paid plan can be cancelled and refunded within three days of the purchase. You do not have to give a reason, and we do not ask for one.
After those three days a refund is still possible, but it stops being automatic: each request is judged on its own merits and may be declined.
A plan you never used is treated separately. If you paid and then never actually used the service, you can ask for a refund for up to fifteen days from the purchase date, even though the three-day window has already closed. Past fifteen days that route closes as well.
If you are buying as a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the United Kingdom, you also have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for a digital service within fourteen days of entering into it, without giving a reason. That period is longer than the three days above and cannot be shortened by these terms, so wherever it applies it is the period that counts.
When a refund is due we pay it within fourteen days of receiving your request, using the same payment method you paid with unless you ask us to use another.
Send refund requests to support@metryo.io from the email address on the account.
07Your data
You own the analytics data of your websites. We process it only to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Privacy pages. You can delete it at any time.
08Warranty and liability
Metryo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
09Termination
You can stop using Metryo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.
10Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
